A Chance to Meet, Learn and Explore

DSY 2013 W

We are proud and delighted to announce the launch of our six Disabled Shooting Conferences. These are one of the flagship schemes of the Disabled Shooting Year.

DSP - RegCon W

Anyone with an interest in any aspect of disabled target shooting is most welcome to sign up for one of the conferences, which will take place at disabled shooting venues throughout England. Each conference will cover all disabled target shooting disciplines, and any type of disability, so anyone wishing to attend can pick the most convenient date and venue, regardless of where they are actually based.

For a list of the conferences, and links to detailed information sheets and the registration form, see the main article.

To all our friends, colleagues and supporters throughout disabled target shooting, we send our very best wishes for a happy, prosperous and successful year in 2013

Money W

On 17th December the long wait ended, and we got the best pre-Christmas present we could have wished for – the amazing news that the DSP will continue to be funded by Sport England as part of the British Shooting allocation of £1.1million for 2013-17.  That represents a very respectable increase over the 2008-2012 figure, which is even more cause for celebration.

Chris Lacey W

We are delighted that Chris Lacey, shooter and gunsmith, has not only agreed to act as the DSP’s voluntary Equipment Co-ordinator, but has also joined our Working Group.

For those of who do not know him, Chris was the leading British Junior international air rifle shooter for several years – and is still the joint British Junior Record holder. A motorcycle accident four or five years ago put paid to any prospect of international success as a senior, and means that he is expected to be in a wheelchair in another 10 years or so. Details of Chris’s training and work as a gunsmith is on the website of his business Lacey's Shooting Services. He brings youth and enthusiasm to the Working Group, as well as his very welcome expertise on all aspects of shooting equipment, and a flair for invention.
